Leggings that will not stay up.

I figured out a little trick in dealing with leggings that will not stay up. Add a draw string! Its simple to do and saves the frustration of always having to pull them up.

On the inside of the leggings cut a very small slit (remember that leggings stretch so the slit you make does not have to be very large at all) at the centre point at the front of the waist band. Its best if you can make the very small slit so that it goes along the waist band/elastic instead of crossing.

Take the cord you wish to use, (Extra long shoe strings work great because you can buy colours that will match the colour of the leggings. Also the cord should be about 18 to 24 inches longer than the circumference of your waist)  and attach it with tape to the end of a a retractable pen or any smooth rod that is about four to six inches long. Using the rod thread the cord through the slit that you made so that the elastic, that is inside the hem, is between the cord and the outside of the leggings. The elastic will help disguise the cord. Remove the cord from the rod/pen you used.

Things to remember: Cut a very small slit, and when deciding how long to make the cord its better to go longer than shorter. Its easier to cut the cord once you have it installed vs having it be too short and have to find a different cord and rethread it because its too short.

There you have it leggings that no longer fall down!!

The disapearing leggings

I have found that if leggings are opaque at purchase they may not stay that way forever. I have some denim style that when I bought them were not see through however I found out that is no longer the case. Its not too bad right now if I am standing straight  but if  I bend over they tend to become more transparent than I would like. Luckily when I discovered this interesting fact I was wearing a shirt that went below my butt line and not as stand alone pants (where my shirt falls at my waist line).

The really sad part is they are the most comfortable ones I have, and they were the ones I tended to wear as stand alone pants quite a lot.
